Labour Market and Immigration in a European perspective, presentation of the third EMN Italy report

The Third European Migration Network Italy Report entitled 'Labour Market and Immigration in a European perspective’ was presented yesterday at the National Council of the Economy and Labour (CNEL) in Rome.

In our country, the Central Directorate for Immigration and Asylum Policy within the Department for Civil Liberties and Immigration of the Interior Ministry is the national network partner. Technical assistance is provided by the IDOS research study centre, which avails itself of the same editorial staff in charge of preparing and publishing the Dossier Statistico Immigrazione (Statistical Dossier on Immigration).

The aim is to ensure a continuous exchange of up-to-date information on both migration and asylum seeker phenomena, by providing national and EU policy makers with reliable documentation.

The Third Italy Report offers a deep insight into labour-related issues, which undoubtedly is one of the main factors to achieving integration.

The report was introduced by the Head of the Central Directorate for Immigration and Asylum Policy, Prefect Angelo Malandrino. Reports by Prof. Alessandrini, one of the councillors at CNEL, and comments by experts in various fields as well as by representatives of several EMN NCPs were presented.
