One-stop-shops for immigration
One-stop-shops for immigration (Sportelli unici per l'immigrazione) were set up at provincial level, within every prefecture, to provide foreign workers with guidance and help to gather the required documentation for first employment, family reunification and residence permit conversion.
They deal with preparing the documentation to be submitted for the issuing of a Nulla Osta (a declaration of no impediment) which is required to obtain a permit to stay.
